This new discovery is a grim reminder and example of the problems faced by the original Jamestown colony. Colonists were faced with starvation several times throughout the early years and attempts at the colony. With this in mind please post a response to the following questions:
1. What did the fact that Jamestown was sponsored by a joint-stock company have to do with its initial problems as demonstrated by the new archaeological evidence of cannibalism?
2. Why do you think northern, New England colonies like Massachusetts and Pennsylvania not face such problems as those in Jamestown?
